We already know the winners of the 15th international edition of the "Discover the World with SKAT!" travel photography contest.
We would like to thank you to all participants and voters for the great commitment. We have received a lot of different photos from all around the world: from distant, exotic countries, through picturesque Polish landscapes.
The submitted images presented views from almost all continents - during different seasons, moments of the day or perspectives, sometimes very surprising.
Thanks to the received pictures, we saw the real beauty of the Earth in all possible ways.
The selection of the Finalists was very difficult.

WINNERS
1st place: Maciej Spierewka (Poland)
"On the way for bread" - Java Island, Indonesia
The jury were under the impression that extremely picturesque and touching portrait of a miner-amateur made on the Indonesian island of Java.
Mr Maciej wrote about his picture:
"The photo was taken during my trip to Indonesia in June 2015. The captured moment shows a "miner" who carries sulfur for purchase in baskets weighing approximately 80 kg, hand-picked in the crater of Kawah Ijen volcano located on the island of Java."
Mr Maciej and his companion will travel by ferry on a return ferry route between Gdańsk - Nynäshamn - Gdańsk funded by Polferries Polish Baltic Shipping Co. Our winner will have the opportunity to visit the picturesque Swedish port of Nynäshamn, where goes the ferries Wawel and Nova Star and will feel the spirit of sea adventure.
Thanks to the Visiting Gdańsk 72 hours Sightseeing Package for 2 persons funded by the VISIT GDANSK - Gdansk Tourism Organization, Mr Maciej will discover attractions and monuments of over a thousand years old City of Gdańsk.
Additionally, at the special invitation of Radio Gdańsk, Mr Maciej will be a guest of the program entitled "Do not sleep, explore - travelers on Radio Gdańsk" and will have the opportunity to tell about his travel passion. The program can be listened to on Saturday mornings.
2nd place: Mariusz Pietrzak (Poland)
"Tre Cime di Lavaredo" - The Dolomites, Italy
"It was a journey full of colors and beauty of the mountains in the Italian Dolomites. Night in the mountains and at dawn a beautiful view from the cave at Tre Cime di Lavaredo."
3rd place: Federico Gabbiani (Italy)
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milano, Italy
"Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milano is the oldest one active shopping mall in Italy. Place is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. I am always under impresion its iron-and-glass roof. It was open in 1877. Nowdays you can find there shops of the top italian and worlds brands as well Leonardo Da Vinci Museum, where are exhibited some of his poject recontructed in 1:1 size. This picture I did right from Leonardo Da Vinci Museum."

"This photo was taken in Zadar in Croatia in 2017 and presents people who gather every day at the installation called `Welcoming the Sun` to admire the sunset over the Adriatic Sea accompanied by colorful lights under the feet and the sounds of the nearby Sea Organ."

"This photo was taken above the world know "Shipwreck" site (Navagio Beach) in the island of Zakynthos, Greece. I took a walk over the surrounding rocks of shipwreck and for a moment I sat on the edge and I took the shot."

"Waiting for..." - Varenna in Lombardy, Italy
``I took this picture in June this year at the railway station in Varenna, in Lombardy (Italy). A small, charming town on the alpine lake of Como, close to the border with Switzerland.``
Mateusz Zabaraszewski, (Poland)
"Sea of stars in the Karkonosze Mountains" - Poland
``The Milky Way captured in the the Karkonosze Mountains with the highest peak Śnieżka (1602 meters above sea level). I took the picture during the night in the Dom Śląski hostel, which can be seen in the picture. The lights seen at the top are a meteorological observatory. The bright big dot on the right side above the mountains is Mars. It was quite a long journey, I did not sleep more than 20 hours. But for such views it was worth it.``
